Whether land or sea, mother nature is always my inspiration that finds its way on paper. Botanical is part of a group of plant paintings, inspired by old-world botanical engravings and interpreted in an abstract modern way. The unique paper texture seen through the watercolor that brings an organic feel to the painting is achieved with the use of individually selected and primed papers that are handpicked from around the world. Collecting, selecting and priming the paper, painting, and even creating my own watercolor paints from pigments, are all part of my evolving process.
